Yes WWII era Iceland Command SSI

Some collectors will say this is English made , based on the black return thread, however this is US made which uses Rayon thread on a schiffli embrodery machine.

British makers used silk thread

I've now seen a couple of these patches for sale online identified as 'British made'.

So I'm wondering how you know they were indeed US made. Is your information from a written reference?

Hi Bruce

I stand corrected it is Brit made.

I had to recheck my patches, the border and reverse is Brit made silk thread.

The border colour can vary.
