Various British insignia- WWII?
Hello gentlemen,
It occurred to me the other day that I don't have a single piece of British militaria in my collection. That isn't very fair to all of the brave British soldiers who fought in the war so I would really like to get started on this personally untouched area of militaria.
For starters, I have found this lot of various insignia for sale for $15. I would like to know what these are, if they are real, and if $15 is a good price for all of it.
I am here to learn.
Best regards,
Mo

Hi Mo
Unfortunatey, the photos wont enlarge for me when clicked, BUT, from what I can see of them, they are all genuine and either WWII or post war.
You have TWO medals in that bunch, (the one with the ribbon on and the star at bottom right of both photos.)
I dont recognise the circular one with crossed rifles behind grenade at bottom left. I would tentatively suggest French/Italian, it has "that feel/appearence" to me.
There are a couple of duplicates in them, but, even with them..............Bottom line is mate, that little lot for $15 = about £20GBP........Good buy!
I'd buy them for that
The medals alone would be anything up to about £20GBP each over here, the cap badges, depending on the unit, average cost is about £5GBP each.
Regards etc

Top right is Canadian.
Bottom left is, I also think, French or Italian.
A couple of them are also post 1953 "Queens Crown" type.
But bear in mind, these are faked/restruck just like German items.
Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for the info guys!
What exactly are the medals? Also, could you please explain the "Queens Crown"?

Re: Various British insignia- WWII?
Kris, bottom right is a Polish badge. The rest look good to me especially the Parachutist one, but I am unable to tell you if they are period or not. Trouble with British badges is that they were made during different time periods, so even a specific regiments badge could have changes from badge to badge depending when it was made. I'll stick to German militaria, much less confusing.

Re: Various British insignia- WWII?
The Polish Eagle cap badge is a post WW2 communist issue. (It has no crown on the eagles head.)
