I love trench art. Had a few pieces before I lost all of my militaria collection. Mostly converted artillery shells from WWI battles. This water bottle is a fine example.
Thats a great looking piece of trench art, I wonder who Sgt Ryan and Miele G are? The must have got along though for the prisoner to make this for one of the "enemy" which I think is the nice thing about this piece

I talked to a crew member of the Strathallen and he also had an engraved Italian water bottle done by one of the prisoners on the ship.
That man was talented , thats super
