Actually the shape of the neck stars is more or less the same nowadays. At the least the one used by Navy officers. Shoudn't be difficult to find one on the bay, just to complete your M34 tunic.
Rich and others here, thanks for images below. Here is a photo I'll add. Acquired this in Italy several years ago. No rank visible, but it has a resemblance to the style of the GNR "Guardia Nazionale Repubblicana". If anyone on the forum can provide details, please comment.

Will, this is not a GNR uniform, but a MVSN one; it's a "Black Shirt", pre 8/9/43 uniform, probably belonged to a plain "private" of the fascist militia.
