Guys, here is a small group from the daughter of the veteran. Thought you'd like to see. Best, Hal PS; also with the group a type 99 W/ sling- monopod & dust cover.

Hal very nice grouping . Gary
Hi Hal, looks good. What is the small green/brown plastic item?
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Hal, I wondered if it was, but never seen one before. Japanese stuff is not that common here. Our lads brought home very little from the Pacific.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Gary and Ade for your comments, Best, Hal
Hi Hal , thanks for showing this vet acquired grouping , it makes a great display , your two bayonets are type 30 examples which were introduced in 1897 . The straight quillion variation is stamped by the Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho company ( Toyoda Automatic Loom Works ) a sub contractor under the supervision of the Nagoya Arsenal . The hooked quillion variation was made by an unknown sub contractor under the supervision of the Kokura Arsenal . The field cap is wonderful , in super condition , and from what i can see is date stamped Showa 18 which translates to 1943

Always a little further : it may be
Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow
Across that angry or that glimmering sea...
My pleasure Hal
