    Here's the complete Evolution of Japanese Wound Badges at a glance. Pictures get uploaded in reverse order, so first is the most common 1938 model, followed by the 1913, 1920 and 1924 changes, all summarized in a spreadsheet to make the confusing evolution easier to grasp.

    The Type A badges were for combat wounds 戦傷 (Sensho) and Type B for other wounds and illnesses 公傷 (Kosho) while in military service.
