I won this for a steal of a price on ebay some years back and have always been curious as to the meaning of the black dot painted on the star under the cover. Any ideas?
As you can see, it's a very nice helmet & cover but it looks like a few inches have been cut off the tie tapes.

Can't help. But very nice helmet and cover. I'm looking to add on of these covers to my collection one day

Thanky! For a long time I never thought I'd be able to add a helmet cover to my collection until that one came along. Since then I was able add a later cover with the reinforced edge. These things ain't cheap!

    The helmet is named to
    佐々木
    Sasaki

I can't make out what is within the parentheses... it looks like
    (ナロ)
    (na ro)
    (narrow)
    But I'm betting I'm wrong!

Thank you. Here is a closer shot of that marking. Looks like you got it right!

I have another interpretation that says (Yoshi) Sasaki. Whatcha think?

I know I will run across one when I least expect it and will need to beg, borrow, steal to raise the $. Not actively looking for one but do want to get one to add to my IJN helmet and camo cover.
