Hello
Thank you very much for your answer ! Can you tell me more about the "Normal with a fake hamon , that disappear when polished."
Is one of the pieces of the dagger fake?
PS : Your collection is superb !
Thank you

Hi Gaetan, what is meant by “fake hamon” is simply acid etching on the blade to give it the appearance of a tempered edge. It is purely cosmetic and was done by the manufacturer. It is not very durable so over time can wear off.

Hi
Thanks again
I still have a few questions.
Is the scabbard sharkskin or Ray Skin ?
I've seen on this web-site that daggers have different names. :
Naval-Dirks
can this dagger qualify in this list ?
Thanks for your help

The site shows Meiji-Showa period navy dirks. yours are from Showa period. Better quality from that period.

The dirks in my photo shows Meiji - Showa ,left to right.

Gaetan, the scabbard (saya) on the dirk you posted is polished sharkskin(shagreen).
