Help with Flags

Hello All, I was just offered these flags and wanted to get some thoughts and opinions about the Kanji which is not the typical "Good Luck" flag and the Navy with Brass Grommets.Were these types of grommets used in wartime flags? All thoughts and comments welcome.

I would think the diary flag with wartime entries would have lots of potential.

First flag is bogus with gibberish Janapese writing and the campaign flag below tracks the unit's campaign history from late 1941 to the surrender on 15th August 1945. The latter flag is surely OK.
