    Default Imperial Japanese Navy 作業帽 Sagyō-bō (work cap) / Bonnie Cap

    Just sharing My recent acquisitions two original
    Imperial Japanese Navy 作業帽 Sagyō-bō (work cap) / Boonie Cap. 1st example is the early khaki color with two metal vent holes on each side with QM depot cloth label tag on the interior named to Seaman 2nd class, Yamamura, signalman. Dated July 1937 it was issued at the Kure Naval Base.
    2nd example is Mid 1943 all year green variation the vent holes was eliminated and it has QM depot ink stamped on the interior it was issued at the Maizuru Naval Base.

    Yon bonnets are awfy bonnie -- but I think you meant boony [ety: boonie < boondock < Tagalog bundok ‘mountain’].

    Thanks for sharing! I haven't seen these work caps very often. Nice period photos as well! unusual to see that many smiles in a photo during those times.
