Japanese ammo pouch for Small Mauser type pistol

I picked up this ammo pouch originally think for type 14, yeah that was dumb. I did ask prior to purchasing though. I now believe it is a Japanese ammo pouch for a Mauser 1910 or other small caliber pistol under foreign procurement, according to the Derby & Brown book. I did not find in the book prior to purchasing, another bad on my part. It is an interesting item but I do not have a Japanese procured Mauser,
Interesting none the less, first I have seen and hope others will not be fooled.
