Japanese cap - is it WW2?
Article about: I recently purchased this cap and believe it to be a WW2 period IJA cap, however, my knowledge of Japanese militaria is very limited to say the least! I have deciphered some of the character

Yes, Japanese.
Size: 七号 #7
Manufactured: 大正十年製 Taisho 10th year [1921]
Issued: 大正十一年 Taisho 11th year [1922]
Name: 福*田春一 Fukada Haruichi
Inspected: 大支検定 Ōsaka Branch
* Note: I cannot read the first kanji of the surname, it does *not* look like 福 to me ... but I'm putting that as a filler. Instead, to me it looks like 舟 with 刕 attached on its side .... and I cannot find that kanji if it actually exists.

Many thanks. My daughter is very interested in all things Japanese and learning kanji, she helped me with some of the characters , however, deciphering the characters is one thing, making sense is another (she tried explaining the different dialects but I get confused easily). I’m hoping to expand on my WW2 Japanese items so your link is invaluable. Many thanks again
