Japanese collar tab

Hi Guys,

I have this Japanese collar tab.
Is this a genuine piece and if so, can someone tell me something about it?
I did some little research myself and I would say it's a collar tab for rank Major.
And then we have the star of David..
Well actually the Kagome crest, for warding away evil.

Am I right on this?

Star would make the owner a member of an HQ unit.
