I had seen this years ago on Jessen Relics and then it reappeared on eBay. I thought it was interesting because of the position of the company mark. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James,
I'm inclined to believe the tag is for "Chubu" 12425 rather than "1st Company, 2425". Chubu Army District was issued numbers 12400 to 12499 to distribute to units activated within its jurisdiction.
Kyu 12425 is for the 81st Field Anti Aircraft Battalion attached to the 64th Independent Mixed Brigade part of the Amami Shima Detachment and posted to Tokunoshima. It was under the 57th Army.
2425 is the 12th Inf. Regt, 11th Division with the 55th Army iin Kochi, Japan by the end of the war.
Cheers!
