Turn it upside down, cover with towel and iron lightly over towel. Using a flash straight on would take more legible photos that do not look like a topographical aerial photo.

I'll try ironing it over the weekend. Thanks for the photo tip, my photographic expertise consists of just pushing the shutter button and my camera is pretty crap.

This flag is of 2-piece construction that is not seen as often as the screened versions that were more common. Also, the tie strings with re-enforcing tabs are not present in this version, although the strings present have been heavily stitched to the flag for added strength.
