Japanese good luck flag. Real or fake

I found this at Gettysberg Museum relics for sale. I posted it on a Japanese site and got a hole lot of condescension and BS, they could not point out anything wrong with it just that it was not of the type they would say is beyond a very high bar of originality. I think its very likely original. But would like more opinions. Thanks.
