Ah, side-latch Type 95! I hate spreading this around, as it might push prices up, but the side-latch 95s are more rare than the copper-handled ones. Approx 4,000 were made compared to over 6,000 coppers.
Thank you guys!
Oh yes - key point by Bruce !
A much under appreciated model in my opinion, yours is clean overall which is nice.
Could you post a picture of both sides of the handle please, and a clearer one of the serial number on the blade and scabbard throat serial number? (I'd like to add it to my records)
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you sir, here are the other pictures.

Thanks delibes!
This moulding of the Pattern 4 side-lock Aluminium handle, is one of a very few which does not have a 'solder - short' or bridge of aluminium casting between the knot and the ito wrap, and/or a bridge between the knot and the kabutogane (pommel cap).
See the areas circled in green.
Nearly all handles in this pattern have the imitation ray skin (under the wrap) covered by this 'bridge' of Aluminium which is a flaw in the mould used for the casting.
I just learned something new today! Thanks Stegel!
No problem Stegel, Thank you to like bruce said something new learned!!
