Wow those are nice looking military swords. Great photos.
Great shots....great swords. I really like that late '44 model!! Great pieces for sure! Any idea who made them? They look awesome!

Cracking collection Hal , the sword stands are nice also were any vet acquired in your locality ?
cheers Al
Really nice, for sure! Do you have other Japanese items?
Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. These swords were vet acquired by me over the years. The late-44 pattern sword has a grain pattern and hand polishing. The third sword from top in bottom pictures has a hand polished blade; added pic of tang(3rd. sword). Thanks again, Hal
Very nice collection of swords. The 1944 era mounts is the form that will always have a hand forged blade. Note that the scabbard is a rough laquered wood model. The handle wrap is also laquered cloth. The majority of 44 mounts have steel scabbards and standard cloth wrapped handles.
Also of interest and worth noting is the variation of paint shades found on the shin gunto scabbards. Your collection has a very nice cross section of these finishes.
Thanks for posting them.
