    I saw this for sale on Ebay

    More photos on the ebay link. Perhaps you could save copies for your files before these disappear.

    神風特別攻撃隊 = KAMIKAZE Special Attack Unit
    昭和拾九年 = 1944
    零式戦闘機 = Zero Fighter

    Hi Guy-san,

    I've seen these Sake Bottles, before. I think these are fantasy pieces, these are my suspicions:

    1.) The aircraft is not a Zero.
    2.) 神風特別攻撃隊 was not written correctly.
    3.) The paint color seems added afterwords.
    4.) Why would they write the year of the "Shinpu Special Attack Unit"? It's like those fake U.S. Airborne Crickets having 1944 D-day printed on (If you know what I mean).

    Regards,
    Taka

    Thanks for expressing reservation -- I've never seen one before and really didn't even think of repainting/refiring.

    Thanks,

    One more thing about it is that Shinpu (Kamikaze) is an IJN term (not an IJA term), however, the Sake Bottle has an IJA Hinomaru on it.

    Taka-san,
    First, I would like to thank you for bring this thread back to the top. I missed the whole thread as I was going to school at NAS Pensacola during this period.

    Second, You did a fantastic job explaining these actions during those times.

    For my last, I have to ask , Since you are Japanese , what are you doing in China?

    Hi Taka-san , I presume these four groups were based in different areas ?

    Hi Alan-san,

    From what I read, all 4 groups were formed under 201st Naval Air Group at Philippines.
