Hello all. I am visiting family in Guam. I had a chance to view the Japanese "stronghold" position at Ga'an Point. The rear entrance of one of the bunkers has some Japanese writing in the cement. I'm curious if the author was an IJA soldier, or a post war repair someone took advantage of leaving his mark on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I will be here for about 10 days. If any of you want a current photo of any of the many WWII significant sites, I will try to get it for you.

    Thank you, ~scott

PS: Dr Bortner, I have your book with me, and look forward to seeing the belt in the NPS collection here.

I apologize, the first photo should be turned 90 deg to the right.

    Group Section No. 2.

I found a Japanese-language youtube about it here -- the poster's father was there from what I (little) understand.

The video heading states there were 13 members of Section 2, Takaki Group; he states in the narrative that it is the 38th Regiment, 29th Division.

I have taken several photos of the Piti Guns on Guam. Is that something I can post here? Or should I start a new thread? A little advice would be appreciated, thank you. ~scott
