Please post a clear upclose photo of the depot stamp so we can read it.

The inside band has his surname:

    Hara

Written in kanji on his depot stamp:
    原 美晴
    Hara Yoshiharu

I double-checked the male given name 美晴 because it begins with "beautiful" .... but:
    美晴
    (f,s) Miharu; femine and surname
    (g) Yoshiharu; given name [this is a male name]
    (g) Bisei; given name [looks feminine to me]

Written on the depot stamp in romaji:
    YOSIHARU
    HARA
You will note the "Si" [pronounced "shi"] spelling. This is the older standard -- Nihon-shiki -- of writing し [shi] in romaji. The most common method today of romanization today is the Hepburn system where し=shi. Here's the Wiki page explaining the three types of romaji used in Japan.

Great looking cap! Haven't seen one with a white anchor before, perhaps a very faded yellow?

IMO I think the hat is badly faded, if you look closely at the second photo you can barely see some of the original color on the inside of the chinstraps

I don't think the badge is faded at all..the cap is in very good condition and does not appear to have been washed.
