Need help with this head band
Is this authentic? It's being offered as WWII hashimaki.
The Kanji reads I think: brave and honour.
The ink is blue and not black, the material is aged but has no sweat/ blood stains and I see no oxidation of ink at periphery. Reputable seller.
Any thoughts?

- I do not know if this is a period item or if it is new (but dirtied); I think it is war-time because of the faded blue dye/ink.
- It is not the same as a signed good luck flag.
- I do not know if it is a common item or if uncommon (I will not say "rare" because people tend to attach more value).
- It is probably equal to a war-time hand towel [tenugui].
I really have no competence in this field; hopefully a member who is better qualified will opine.
