Markings on Japanese Arisaka Rifles and Bayonets of World War II
Overall a bit salty due to poor storage but the blade appears to be in good shape. The scabbard should clean up with some TLC but I will leave it to the edged weapons guys to provide advice on how or if to clean it.

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

As Map stated it is a Japanese Type 30 bayonet. Will clean up fairly well. It is a good pick as long as it was not at K98 bayo prices.

If you choose to clean your piece Use BRONZE wool ONLY!!! on the metal parts not the wood. This will remove rust but will not damage the blued finish. Then wipe with a good quality gun oil do not get the oil on the grip plates.A small swatch of an old cotton T shirt works well.As far as the grip plates go just a nice wiping down with a dry cotton cloth should be all that is needed.
