一則
Kazunori
昭和十九年
Showa 19th Year [1944]
I cannot see the month/day -- obscured.
Marcus Sesko lists two in his Japanese Swordsmiths; however one signed with a complicated mei; the other signed just 一則, so I think this is the one who forged your sword:
- KAZUNORI (一則), Shōwa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – “Kazunori” (一則), real name Kanematsu Kazuichi (兼松一市), born June 10th 1894, he worked as guntō smith and died December 9th 1944, posthumous Buddhist name Zendō Myōtoku (善導妙徳)
Another site lists his licensing date:
一則 兼松一市 S14.10.26
Art name: Kazunori
Real Name: Kanematsu Kazuichi
Licensed: Showa 14th Year [1939], October 26th.
So, your sword was forged in the year of his death. Can you possibly get a higher resolution image of the date and I'll try to see the month/date of its forging.
Cheers,
-- Guy
