Its been a while since anyone posted here, so here are a couple of cups.
A couple of lacquer cups with maps. :-)

1. A commemoration of the Pacific War dated 1941
2. I think its a Russo Japanese war war dead commemoration
3. Concuest memorial 14th Infantry division
4. Korean Empire Garrison 32nd Infantry Regiment

I found this nice embossed and handpainted Navy cup that says the Japanese Navy is great! :-)
Inside it is written Term Fulfillment Commemoration.

Are the colors under the glaze? From the images, they look applied after the piece was fired. I'm thinking someone painted it after it arrived in the USA.

I note on the blue:
大日本＊
Dai Nippon [＊?]

and on the left arm of the anchor a kanji that looks sort of like this :
園 or
團 ??? Division/group/team. Post-1946 kanji: 団

I recall Nick saying that Navy basic training was 海兵團 ... What is in front of that kanji?

The colors are kind of both on and under the glaze, blue and red looks like its under the glaze and others are more like water colors.
I got this cup from auction in Japan and also Lawrence have had on for sale at his webshop so it should be legit.

I tried to take pictures on the left anchor arm, but its very dificult with the cellphone. I cant see what it is maybe you can Guy?
