Sword tang translation

Hi Guys, I have had a sword come into work and I would really appreciate some help on translating the wording on the tang.

I have never seen a "Mum" on a tang before??

For me to actually read it instead of guessing from the little I can see, I'll need sharper focus on the strokes than what a smart phone can provide.

(Chrysanthemum-mon) Tanba no Kami Yoshimichi
You can just barely see the top of 道 before the sword was shortened.

Markus Sesko lists too many for me to take an [un]educated guess.



You'll need an expert to distinguish if yours is a gimei or authentic. The mei looks similar to those on record. Don't know if authentic or if someone made a forgery.

I have a few of these on file from the 1600's. Back then it meant the smith "was on retainer by the Shogun."
