translation please

Hi gents, can someone please translate as much as possible from these photos.These characters are scratched onto a "pocket" on one of my sword belts.Please excuse the bad photos they were taken with my phone. Thank you much in advance. Bill

All I can read is on the left side:
吉岡伍長
Yoshioka Gocho [Corporal Yoshioka]
二十年二月三日 [20th Year, February 3]

In the middle is
本部
Honbu [HQ]

Then
陸軍伍****
Infantry Corporal. Only the first part of Corporal is visible, and it’s not clear. I’m pretty sure it is 伍 and not 五.

Perhaps you can do a rubbing and see the kanji clearer?

Minami Shina
South China

Thank you Guy, I tried a rub but it didn't come out, I don't think the scratches aren't deep enough.
