    Hello to everyone,
Since my last noob post I learnt a lot from japanese militaria.

I found this beauty with Iijima stamp and Kokura arsenal stamp and I got some dificults in identify the middle one.
The thing that I would like to know is why the menuki is not yellow/golden as others type 95 shin gunto.

    Thank you for helping me.

Middle stamp could be "East" for Tokyo 東京; but too small for me to accuately read.

On my monitor, it looks like your menuki are yellow-or-gold washed, but worn from handling.

The Fuchi just looks worn to me ...nothing wrong with it. Do the serial numbers match? …. can you show pic of full scabbard? Dan

Whoever had this before, try to “clean it up“. They’ve stripped the original paint off the scabbard, and buffed the brass pieces. That is why the fuchi looks that way.

And Guy is correct about the “To” inspector stamp in the center, for the Tokyo inspector.

You might have already seen this, but if not, a great place to learn about these: Non-commissioned officers Gunto 1935 (Type 95 GuntM)/title>

I have a similar one, you can see on the left:

    Carl,
I don't understand. I'm not saying that you should remove it. I'm saying that it looks like somebody already did. Is there still paint on the scabbard? If so, could you give us a better, close-up picture?

Yes it has been painted. Is there any way to remove it ?
