I was wondering when this IJA great coat is from and what the kanji means (if its possible to translate?).
I'm also interested in learning what type this great coat is called?
I do not own this great coat just considering buying it.
I'm not a big IJA collector so sorry if I'm overlooking anything in advance.
Any form of help is always greatly appreciated.

The greatcoat appears unissued, so the rank tabs were probably added by a seller/collector later.

    三号 Size 3
昭和十四製 Made in Showa 14 [1939]
    廣支検定
    Hiroshima Branch [Depot] Inspected

廣 is the abbreviation for 廣島, Hiroshima.

    Cap:
I'm not a collector, but it looks like someone put a high school cap badge on an army hat; or, this type of army hat was used by the school .... I really don't know.

The badge shows part of the school's name, ; i.e., the 殿場 Gotenba High School.

    On/Mi/Gyo/Go
an honorific prefix; depends on the following kanji how it would be pronounced. (Ain't Japanese fun?)

Note: it is *not* Gotenba HS; their badge is different.

Thanks for the reply its greatly appreciated, I'm curious is it made in Hiroshima or is it just inspected there (if its made there would that be rare, I'm assuming not but I'm only thinking this because of the nuke).
Also thanks for the extra info on the cap its very much appreciated, would the cap be accurate with the great coat?

It looks like an unissued IJA Type 98 overcoat, and as Guy has stated the collar tabs were probably added post war, and coming from the Hiroshima depot will not make it rare. Can you please post some photos of the inside of the hat. Thanx.
