HI all, hope all is well.

Although I already have a number of K98 bayonets I picked up this example in the past week or so. After having some disappointment with what I thought to be a nice original example that turned out to be otherwise, I still had a certain itch that remained unscratched until now. In my non expert opinion this seems to be a nice untouched example which is what I try to look for, in any case please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for your comment. Do you know of any source for the scabbard screw? I would ideally want to find an original.

One minus is the sharpening of blade.

These are bayonets and would expect them to be sharpened so as to kill an enemy.....or has this been resharpened post war?

Yes postwar done, bayonets of S84/98 were not sharpened as used only by stacking not cuting.

    Hello

from 1937 it was forbidden to grind Bayonete in case of mobilization.
The S84 / 98 is a stab weapon and insufficient for cutting due to the material thickness on the cutting edge.
Moreover, this damage to the blade reduced the service life in service.
