Days of Remembrance was established by the U.S. Congress to memorialize the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust as well as the millions of victims who were targeted for racial, political, ideological, and behavioral reasons. Public Law 96-388 established the United States Holocaust Memorial Council and authorizes the actions of the council. Each year the President of the United States also issues a Presidential Proclamation for this observance.

The celebration dates for Days of Remembrance and Holocaust Remembrance Day vary each year according to the Hebrew calendar. This year, Days of Remembrance, the nation’s annual commemoration of the Holocaust, will be observed from April 16 – 23, 2023. Remembrance Day falls on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 and is observed each year during the week of remembrance that runs from the Sunday before Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) through the following Sunday.

This year's theme is "Behind Every Name a Story: The Woman."

Let us never forget those who were lost, imprisoned against their will, persecuted and hated.

May God Bless those lost..
