At KZ-Floßenbürg, the prisoner effects were stored here. Nothing remains today save for feint traces of the former foundations.

A distant view of the Effektenkammer at Buchenwald was shown earlier in the thread. Below is a closer image taken recently, showing what was the largest structure at the camp. The sheer scale of the building indicates the large volume of material that was taken from the inmates who were deported to the Buchenwald camp system - over 250,000 throughout the period of the camp's existence.

The permanent exhibition housed within is currently closed and due to reopen in April 2016. Meanwhile, a superb black and white photographic presentation of the camp history is open in the former prisoner cantine building.

This is what the facilities looked like at the time. This image shows the storeroom for prisoners' belongings at Sachsenhausen in 1937.

    KONZENTRATIONSLAGER KRAKAU-PLASZOW

The file attached below shows the current state of the former Appelplatz (roll call area) at KL-Krakau-Plaszow. To the forefront of the image, two of the water reserve pools were once located. At the rear, behind the roll call area, stood the bath house, delousing barrack and Effektenkammer (prisoner belongings store) - all conveniently located near to the roll call area and the road to the main entrance to the camp.

A recent view taken on the grounds of the former Effektenlager at Auschwitz-II Birkenau. The glass cover, part of the museum's display at the "Kanada" site, is often where visitors leave small items such as buttons that litter the surface around the foundations of the former storehouse. The "Sauna" building, used for processing new arrivals that were deemed fit for work detail, rather than being murdered in the gas chambers shortly after arriving at the site, can be seen in the background.

Here is an unusual find, an old museum produced picture post card with a view of the Effektenkammer at KL-Buchenwald. The structure is clearly visible to the right of the photograph.
