Thank you for the answer. I have checked the thread, interesting. Not the words you learn in school.

Various images taken within the former Effektenkammer, a large building used to store the belongings of inmates, which nowadays functions as an exhibition centre. Items shown below include SS insignia, a Polish political prisoner's Winkel (cloth triangular identity patch) and an A4/V2 engine part, built at Mittelbau-Dora.

BUCHENWALD, Then and Now
This week marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of both KZ-Buchenwald and KZ-Mittelbau-Dora, two of the major Konzentrationslagers located within the Third Reich. Below is a link (German language) to a news feature regarding the commemorative events to be held in a few days time.

Thanks for sharing these Carl, very good photos.
It's always a very sombre occasion to visit such places, I have been to Auschwitz 3 times myself, and it never fails to horrify and make an impact.
Further to the post made earlier this week, a recently published BBC article addressing the commemorative events at Buchenwald, held today.

Note: There is an error within the text in the article linked above. Buchenwald was not the first major concentration camp to be liberated by American forces, as KZ-Mittelbau-Dora was liberated a day earlier by Americans. KZ-Hinzert (aka SS-Sonderlager Hinzert) was also discovered by American forces earlier than the camp at Buchenwald, and Natzweiler-Struthof, the only major concentration camp on French soil, was discovered much earlier - late November 1944. The major concentration camp Niederhagen-Wewelsburg, was the scene of yet another earlier liberation, in early April 1945.
The thread linked below addresses the famous Goethe Oak, that once stood on the camp grounds:
