Here is an unusual lapel pin, presented to a former prisoner of the Richard I and II underground facilities that were located at Leitmeritz (Litoměřice, near Terezín). The Richard project was the largest underground facility within the Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren, with thousands of prisoners - many of whom were transferred from nearby Theresienstadt, working on weapons production. Construction work began during 1943, with production following in 1944 - plans that never reached the expected capacity. Several thousand prisoners died during an epidemic of Typhus.
Note: the "KT" on the pin is the Czech abbreviation for Koncentrační Tábor (concentration camp).
