Another photographic example of the German official policy of not calling a Jewish ghetto they set up a "Ghetto" but Jüdischer Wohnbezirk or Wohngebiet or Jewish residential district.
Below are two "beautiful" ghetto portraits in which the personalities of the elderly Jewish baker and the young accordion player shine through for the photographer but little did they know for all their smiles to the camera what their ultimate fate was slated to be just a few months after these photos were taken.
