Hi guys, im wondering what the piece of etch next to the ricasso on a fouled anchor blade is supposed to depict. Is it a rising or setting sun or is it a half flower. Thanks for any replies.

I think it would be described as a "floral design" and between brackets "half flower looking like a up rising sun"...

I would saw floral also..we see a variant of this on etched bayonets.
