I am no expert but workmanship does not look like what the TR would require. A red flag to me is the word original above maker mark.

Hi John ... " Original " was standard from 1935 - 41 with Eickhorn mainly with there serrated tail logos and and one late smooth tail logo.

The rest of the dagger has been parted together. Other Naval collectors will comment shortly.

Hi Larry, thank you for the pictures of the maker mark "Eickhorn" with the word original shown above it. I learned something today.
Guess I am a little sensitive to the use of the word "original" in this hobby

Its a healthy sensitivity that you feel that way. We learn from asking questions and also our mistakes.

What I would be concerned about is seeing an artifact with " Made in Germany " ..unless it was an export item ....none of which that was National Socialist related was exported out. German produced standard household cutlery I can see being exported with " Made in Germany" on the ricasso.

    Best Larry

    Hi guys,

that’s a partdagger. The pommel is of Hörster design. The grip is of Hörster design as well and on the first glance looks to be of plastic(no period). The crossguard is by Alcoso. The blade and the scabbard are by Eickhorn.

    Best,
    Oleg.
