Kriegsmarine Golden Portepee question

Hi Guys! Back when I was collecting 3rd Reich daggers, I remember my KM having a gold portepee! It was a complete grouping, and everything about it was gold! Now all I can find are silver portepees, that I was under the impression were Army. Is my memory failing me? What gives? Thanks! Don Liller

hello,i think they change color when at see and time as the silver turns to a gold look as i seen them on sites and they realy look nice.!

Hi Don, they were silver, but as Pammy has mentioned, some knots can discolour over time and will appear to be a more golden shade. The synthetic thread versions are prone to this.
