Kriegsmarine pocket knife ( Real Or Fake )

Article about: AMTG i know what you mean but the dagger i have is a lot longer than the usual jack knife ....it's got me baffled mate

    Hello again i have just been looking at a site and noticed a knife like the one i have, except! it's a Kriegsmarine boatswains pocket knife made by Ed Wusthoff??
    its even stamped up all genuine and correct.
    The knife i have is made by Wade & Butcher of Sheffeild does anyone know who supplied who with these knives the knife i have is dated 1937 any more info would be great thanks in advance Ronnie

    It's certainly a sailor's type knife, with the rigging spike and all, but what makes you attribute it to the Kriegsmarine?

    Wishful thinking on the part of the seller, I'm thinking. Almost certainly,a KM knife would have KM markings, I would imagine.

    I believe it is British 'Wade & Butcher Sheffield, England'.
    Don't know why it has a DRGM stamp.........!

    I thought they were one and the same !

    I suspect it is likely a copy of the
    RN knife, made pre-war.........

    Looks very similar to British and Austrslian issue knives, they too are called jack knives but have a flat pressed metal handle with similar attachments.....

    The story goes that these knives were issued to cavalry and light horse, the spike being used to clean horses hooves....thay are still issued in the Australian army
