Mike,
This is a certificate to a female recipient, most likely a nurse going by the fact she was in the DRK and also by her rank. As these were fairly common awards I don't think there will be much hope of finding out too much more about who she was although being a female, you might stand slightly more chance as there weren't so many ladies who were awarded these medals.
The signatures are facsimilies of Adolf Hitler and Otto Meissner who was Chief of the Presidential Chancellery.
It's a nice set, made more desireable because it is an award to a female.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I agree, a very nice item for any collection

Thanks Adrian and Nick, as I understood this was thrown in the trash, and found later by someone, it was folded up with the medal inside! I will let you know more details as I find out....
I thought it was cool to have both the medal and the document together Wow I stand corrected, it is a lady instead of a "he" Sorry

Very nice set, Mike! Thanks for showing.

Out of curiosity, is there a date on the certificate? It might be worth running it past the guys in the paperwork forum just to be sure..........

Very nice set Mike it is unusual that it was issued to a female as was mentioned and a Nurse by the sounds of it let me know what your research brings to light it would be awsome to be able to find out more about this woman and her career as a nurse.

Very nice set. Nice to see it kept as such too. Makes it more desirable IMO. Stewy
