Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
We enjoyed the show. The weather was warm but not too oppressive. We even had light rain Saturday night but not enough to deter us sitting around the camp fire and having a drink.
As ever there were some great displays and impressions.
We were co-opted into the Western Front battle with only 10 days notice as they needed some French Resistance guys to hold a DZ. (So ignore the M91/30 rifles.) Seven guys from RHA actually Parachuted in wearing WW2 kit. We borrowed a Citroen truck from our comrades in "GD" which I had the pleasure to drive to pick up the Paras. The pyros were impressive and were detonated when the air support came in, Hurricane on Saturday, and a Spitfire on Sunday.
Here is a pic of a few of us. Note we are communist partizans LOL.
Cheers, Ade.
