Warbirds over the beach 2011

For anyone lucky enough to live on the US East coast, the Warbirds over the beach event is a must see. WWII re-enactors were treated quite kindly. I had the privilege of getting up close to some aircraft as you can see in the photos. There were Fallschirmjäger impressions and US Airborne parachute jump. NH

Some additional photos. The 8.8 cm fired numerous times over the weekend. My impression (boarding JU 52) is '43/'44 Italian front Gebirgsjäger with a mix of older issue Windjacke and tropical clothing. There was a Japanese Army display - very rare at US shows. Russian aircraft included the Polikarpov type and a flying Yakolev 9. NH
