Hello gents I just picked this example up locally for a friend of mine. I would before handing it over like to make sure this is all original. Looked like a nice early piece to me but I do not collect luft and have been wrong before so I’d like an extra opinion on this example if you don’t mind.

    Many Thanks as always,
    Bodhi

A very nice, original and early 1936 1st pattern (droop tail) aluminum buckle. Has the LBA stamp often found on early Luftwaffe buckles. LBA = Luftwaffe Bekleidungs Amt. (Luftwaffe Clothing Office). Cannot make out the maker stamping on the leather tab from the pics. You can rub a bit of white talc powder and often see the maker stamp. It wipes off.

Looks like Julius Maurer M4/57, I had an identical drop tail just like it !

Julius Maurer was the guess I was leaning towards.

Thank you gentlemen very much! That maker name seems to match up with the leather stamp when I look close at it.

Look at post #37 in this Luftwaffe makers list. It's your buckle G. Believe Mauer is correct.

Also, compare the design of the eagle etc.

Nice early original example. Weller and Gwar covered it.
