Hi my friend, you have interesting dagger because pommel, crossguard and blade are "Generic", while blade is marked WKC. I is nothing unusual, if the blade bears another marker, but WKC - I never saw that! WKC was a big company, which produced large numbers Luftwaffe daggers and daggers parts for another smaller companies, so maybe in case of this dagger, WKC ran out of their own parts???
Can you tell us the source of your dagger?

    Best regards

    Peter

Ren Wax or Simichrome would be fine IMO, I have used both in the past, gotta keep those minty blades protected from the elements!!!

I use renwax myself but never on Motto or logo's.
Ive seen a few posts on forums where the members complaint that the burnish in the Logo's & Motto's are starting to faint.
They put the blame on renwax.
I used it before on the entire blade, but now im a bit more carefull, you never know...... if they are right, then its a nice warning

    regards,
    Ger

    Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.

As an interesting aside, WKC makes today's West Point U.S. Military Academy cadets sword in Germany.
