I would think so as all the 2nd Model Luftwaffe daggers that I had encountered all had the crossguard swaz well above the first scabbard band.

If you look well you can see that the band snapped in the past and got soldered near the ring.
The one that did the repair then put it back the wrong way, as it is placed up side down on the hull.
So in this case its not a bad sign, just a sloppy repair job
You can see the ghost beneath the scabbardband where it used to sit, its just placed up to high, due to the snap it misses a bit of the tension and got a bit to wide, thats all.
