Had this red felt piece of cloth,making a display,would blue be better for luft edged weapons?

I think a blue or pale gray would complement a Luftwaffe display nicely, however the items do stand out on red. I try to avoid red as backdrops in my displays unless they're period flags/etc, since I find it detracts from the items being displayed

I agree, I think a blue background would make them stand out more and compliment them being Luftwaffe. You could also use a black background as it would not take away from the items and it would make them stand out much more. I would play around with it a bit, use lots of different backgrounds and see what you like the best.

I always prefer a deeper red low cut velvet. I think it actually highlights the bright metal, and brings out the blacks.

That said, it doesn't do well with earth tone colors
