Luftwaffe Sword - Indicators of Fakes?
Hello All!
I am looking to add a Luftwaffe Sword (or two) to my collection. However, I would like to know what are some common indicators of fakes, especially SMF and Paul Wyersburg swords? I have seen Wittmann's old video on the daggers and swords as well as reviewing his book, but did not find much info on fakes. Any and all help would be appreciated!

Wittmanns Videos and Reference is a good starting place ...the rest is through observation examination and study...comparing the details between producers as each producer had their own signature detail.
There are not many Luft sword fakes out there and is why it is difficult to compare to an authentic example. If you study enough of what is authentic by the producer ...you will see the differences betwen the producers and also the fake sword can easily be spotted.
Its all a matter of study and comparison.
