Just bought this dagger, hoping it was genuine.

Never having owned one previously and finding very few photos online I'm seeking expert advice!

The grip and scabbard are blue leather and seem to be appropriately aged and faded, but I'm still not sure if it's right

Thanks in advance for your help

That post 1935 Eickhorn logo on the blade is facing the wrong direction. The squirrel's sword should point to the tip of the dagger. Also I would think there should be a DLV mark stamped on the scabbard throat, and it doesn't appear to have Moroccan leather over the scabbard.

Agree with Anderson on leather, Eickhorn Trademark and needing the marking as well on scabbard throat. Here is some close ups of mine.

Although the poster does not show the quillon end of the guard....There are a few produced DLVs that are void of the "K" stamping on the quillon end.

Malvern please post another photo of the crossguard ends that may have that letter "K" ..please.

Easy give away on the majority of these repros are the round headed scabbard fitting screws.
My first look is always at the screws, if they are not the flatheaded ones i do not bother to look at the rest.

So only needed the first picture
