1938 S/42 - what do I really have?
Article about: I'm new to Luger collecting and wonder if my research on this Luger is correct. This 1938 S/42 has all matching numbers, except for the magazine and grips. Most of serial # are white, but th

It's a Russian captured Luger as is evidenced by the "X" stamping.

As already said... a Russian capture pistol. It is likely to be a re-worked and re-blued pistol issued to Communist East German forces, or Volkspolizei. Not all the VOPO guns had the Polizei stamp on them.
