PS. Would someone who is familiar with serial number stamps please share with me what letter is stamped below serial number so I can determine what number in production line in 1938 that this pistol was made. Thank you!!!
Mike
There is a pinned thread you can refer to > Lugers 1934 - 1945 (To include Ku, K & G code lugers)
If you asking about the # 31 seen on the Luger...which is consistent part number ...all matching.
BTW..I dont collect Lugers...but from what II can see in the Thread Ben created ...it is a good starting point.

Thank you, Larry. The letter I was referring to is the letter under serial number under the barrel on picture 5. It denotes which batch of 10k made this pistol is like on k98 bayonets.
To me it looks like an S in sutterlin. I could be wrong though. -Rose
Rose,
Thank you for looking. I’m sure someone is familiar with German fonts. Time will tell.
Sorry, Rose. You were referring to German font. My ignorance is showing.
No problem. It really looks like an S, F or H to me.
My wife was guessing “h”. I hope we can get a consensus!!!
That Luger is in nice shape. Typical holster wear seen on the muzzle but the overall all condition is wonderful. To me the suffix designation looks to be an 'F'
